PTFA funds buy netbooks for the school
The netbooks that were purchased for the school from PTFA funds are now in use in the classrooms.
Thanks everyone for helping us to raise the money to buy them. More news about 2014/15 fundraising targets coming very soon…
Halloween Disco raises more than £800!
The Halloween Discos, which took place, on the last day before half term have raised a brilliant £802.76 from the proceeds of the sale of tickets, drinks and treats.
Thank you to everyone who came – and particularly to the fantastic volunteer helpers who helped decorate the room, man the doors/gates, hand out food, sell snacks and clear up afterwards.
Your help was brilliant, vital – and look what you helped to acheive for our school!
Next up is the Christmas Fayre on December 5th. More details to follow soon…
Can you spare an hour to help with the Halloween Discos?
If you can spare a couple of hours to help at either the FS/KS1 or KS discos next Friday (especially the KS2 one at 7pm) then the PTFA would be really pleased to hear from you.
The jobs are really easy – help to set up and decorate the hall/man the doors and gates/sell squash and sweets/help to tidy up.
Please give a little of your time, especially if your child is coming along, as it’s a brilliant way for the kids to have fun while we raise valuable money for the school!
Timings are:
- 4pm onwards, set up for FS/KS1 disco
- 5-6.30pm, FS/KS1 disco
- 6.30-7pm, clear up and prepare for KS2 disco
- 7-8.30pm, KS2 disco
- 8.30pm onwards, clear up KS2 disco

Don’t let your kids miss out on attending one of the Halloween Discos next Friday. Tickets are going really fast for both the FS/KS1 disco at 5pm and the KS2 event at 7pm.

Autumn Family BBQ raises £1,000!
Autumn Family BBQ raises £1,000!
In September, the Dickens Heath School PTFA Family BBQ was a fantastic success, raising just over £1,000 towards new equipment for the school and a new brood of chickens and ducks for the school farm.
The sun shone (hurrah!), marshmallows were toasted over an open fire, children ate huge hotdogs, scrummy homemade cakes and then leapt wildly on bouncy castles and parents relaxed over a glass of wine.
A huge thank you to everyone who came to or helped out at the BBQ. If you missed it, then make sure the Christmas Fayre is in your diary – Friday 5th December, 4-6pm in the school hall.
