Autumn BBQ raises £650!

Well we kicked off 2016/17 fundraising in style! The PTFA committee is delighted to tell you that we raised £650 at last night’s Autumn BBQ.

To be honest last night’s event was as much about trying new things (no entrance fee, sports games instead of bouncy castles, face painting, glitter tattoos, farm visits, hot food and of course the Prosecco) and everyone having a great time together at the start of the school year, as it was about serious fundraising.

However, we are all really chuffed with this total!

Thank you so much to everyone who came and especially to those who helped (we literally couldn’t have done it without you)…a proper roll call of thanks will follow in the newsletter.

PTFA funds fantastic mural for the school

How beautiful is this? This is the mosaic created for the whole school to enjoy by Year 4 Skylarks, in a workshop with Mrs Deane which was funded by the PTFA.

The mosaic has now been installed in the Sensory Garden and the children will get to see it for the first time after half term.

We will also run the chocolate, bottle and cake tombolas as always and really appreciate your support in gathering together prizes from your cupboards.

We’re doing it slightly differently this year, Here’s what we need:

Foundation Stage and Year 1

Chocolate! Come on, raid your cupboards, we know there’s good stuff hidden in there!

Years 2, 3 and 4

Bring out your bottles. Alcoholic and/or fancy soft drinks welcomed. Must be unopened. Come on, you can spare some of that Prosecco!

Years 5 and 6

It’s time to get baking so we have a fabulous cake tombola stall (Please wrap cakes in cling film or other clear plastic wrap to keep them fresh and clean).

Everyone!

Please return your jolly jars full of sweets and treats (empty jars, bags and ribbons will come home with your children this week). Always a big fundraiser!

Please drop your donated items into school reception before 3.30pm Wednesday 9th December.

Thank you!

PTFA helps to fund fantastic KS2 production of The Lion King

Dickens Heath School PTFA is proud and thrilled to have supported the fabulous Key Stage 2 production of The Lion King, which was performed in the Edge Theatre at Alderbrook School this week (30 June 2015).

PTFA funds contributed to the success of the production by funding the licence to put on the show and it’s another example of how important and valuable the money is that the parents, friends, teachers and pupils of the school raise through PTFA events.

If you’d like to see more of this kind of thing happening at the school please get involved in PTFA events, either helping to run them or just turning up and enjoying them!
